Tax
Tax categories are used to group tax rates. Each product may have a different tax category assigned to it.
Which tax rate will be used for a particular product, depends on the matcher as described here.
Create a tax category
Navigate to Sales → Tax categories and click on "Add tax category".
Enter the code and the description.
Click on "Save tax category" to complete the process.
Create a tax rate
Navigate to Sales → Tax rates and click on "Add tax rate".

Select the tax category you want to associate the new tax rate with. Set the name, country and percentage amount.
Optionally, add region ID and postcode.
Included in price
This value specifies if the price already includes tax. If it does, the tax amount is calculated from the price, otherwise the specified percentage amount is added to the price.
ZIP range
Select the "Is ZIP range" and specify the "from" and/or "to" values to match a ZIP/postcode range.
Example
- a "from" value of 10000 will match all postcodes/ZIP codes greater than or equals to 10000
- a "from" value of 10000 and a "to" value of 10100 will match all postcodes/ZIP codes between 10000 and 10100
- a "to" value of 10000 wil match all postcodes/ZIP codes less than or equals to 10000
Note
If a tax category consists of multiple tax rates, the one with the highest score wins. Score is determined using how many fields are successfully matched (country, region etc.). A single tax rate having the most matches will be used.
A minimum match for a tax rate is always the country field.
